BTRC raids against illegal ISPs in capital, seizes equipment
Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) conducted an operation against persons/organizations providing illegal telecommunication services in Mugda and Tikatuli areas of the capital with the help of members of RAB-3.
According to information received from BTRC, the operation was conducted on Tuesday in the night. However, there was no immediate information about where or who was in this operation.
According to sources, 1 router, 2 servers and 6 switches were seized from Mugda and Tikatuli offices of an organization for providing internet services using expired licenses without renewing them.
BTRC has requested the customers to take internet services only from licensed ISPs stating that the Commission will continue its regular surveillance and operations against illegal internet service providers.
